Pictured here is East Boston’s famous ‘Tall Ship Boston’ – a 245’ vessel turned into a floating oyster bar. The ship boasts three, custom-built bars, allowing any guest to enjoy cocktails with uninterrupted views of Boston Harbor and the city skyline. Each bar is covered by a custom built, steel awning frame. Although we normally secure our fabrics to the frame by the tek-screw method, on most oceanic applications, we punch grommets into the perimeter of the fabric and secure it to the frame by lacing it to the metal with 1/4” rope. We also use this method so that we can easily remove the fabric at the end of each season – protecting the fabric from the harsh winter elements and preserving the integrity of the fabric.
